For business · workplace health

A health benefit that pays for itself.

Ankaa is the life system your workforce uses every day, and up to €600 per employee per year tax-free under §3 No. 34 of the German Income Tax Act (EStG). Sleep, stress, habit reduction, back health and finances plus explicit neurodivergent inclusion in one GDPR-compliant platform instead of five silos.

In short

Back and musculoskeletal issues are the leading cause of absence in Germany, and mental strain is rising fast. Workplace health promotion lowers this measurably. Typical ROI: roughly 2.7 to 15 € per euro invested. Ankaa delivers this in one platform, entirely within the €600 allowance, GDPR-compliant and with a works-council agreement template.

We are also the only one to additionally cover neurodivergent inclusion (ADHD/autism design principles), a separate lever from diversity and inclusion budgets that classic benefit platforms do not serve.

Why it pays off

Fewer sick days, one budget, one platform

The cost of back trouble, burnout and addictions ultimately lands on employers: through sick days, lost productivity and turnover. Ankaa works exactly there.

~19

Sources (public, rounded): §3 No. 34 EStG (German Federal Ministry of Finance payroll-tax guidance, €600 allowance); DAK/BKK absence reports (German average sick days, share of musculoskeletal disorders); meta-analyses on workplace health promotion (absenteeism ROI around 2.7:1, smoking cessation up to around 15:1). Figures are for orientation, not a promise for the individual case.

What does it bring to the bottom line?

Slide the controls to your numbers. The estimate deliberately uses conservative assumptions: a planning basis for finance/HR, not a promise. Every assumption is visible and adjustable.

Model: avoided sick days = participants × avg. sick days × reduction; saving = avoided sick days × cost per sick day. What Ankaa covers

Benefit platforms like Wellhub, 7Mind for Business or Humanoo each focus on one field. Ankaa bundles the most expensive strain drivers in one app, plus the lever nobody else serves.

Back & ergonomics

The leading cause of absence. Every movement routine is back-safe and oriented on the clinical guideline for low back pain (NVL). Not a generic fitness programme.

Sleep & stress

Guided wind-down routines, stress breaks and a calm focus mode lower the drivers of mental strain, the fastest-rising reason for absence.

Habit reduction

Nicotine, alcohol, sugar and screen time: cut back or quit with a plan, streaks and setback support. Smoking cessation shows the highest workplace-health ROI.

Financial health

Overview and calm structure for money, especially relevant with ADHD (impulse spending) and an underestimated everyday stress factor.

Neurodivergent inclusion

ADHD/autism design principles from the ground up: low-stimulus, "one next thing", a coach that acts. Opens diversity and inclusion budgets. No other workplace-health tool does this explicitly.

Wall display optional

The Ankaa Box as an always-on anchor in the break room keeps habits present, more visible than an app icon that is forgotten after two weeks.

Pricing (PEPM)

Per employee, per month

A transparent tier by team size, every level well below the tax-free €600 budget. Minimum 25 seats, 12 months. Prices preliminary.

Optional add-ons: break-room wall display (Ankaa Box, hardware near cost price + content licence), anonymised aggregate analytics dashboard (GDPR: aggregate only), white-label for brokers/insurers. All tiers stay within the tax-free §3 No. 34 EStG budget.

Trust

GDPR-compliant & works-council ready

Health data is especially sensitive (Art. 9 GDPR). We treat it that way and take the biggest adoption hurdles off your plate.

Anonymised aggregates only

By default the employer sees only anonymised aggregate reports: never individual data, diagnoses or ND status. Personal data stays with the employee; individual analysis only with opt-in.

EU hosting & no selling

EU hosting is our target (Cloudflare EU). Every account is technically isolated. Data is never sold to advertisers or data brokers. GDPR as a selling point, not a burden.

Templates included

A ready-made works-council agreement and DPA template come included, plus an annual §3 No. 34 confirmation letter for your finance department. Competitors do not provide this.

Not a medical product

Ankaa is not a medical product and does not replace diagnosis or therapy. Content is preventive and oriented on recognised guidelines (e.g. the NVL for low back pain). No healing claim.

Frequently asked

Is Ankaa tax-free as an employee benefit?

Usually yes. Under §3 No. 34 of the German Income Tax Act (EStG), up to €600 per employee per year for workplace health promotion is free of tax and social-security contributions (an allowance, on top of regular pay). The measures must meet §§20, 20b SGB V: stress, back health, habit reduction, sleep, movement and nutrition all qualify. At 48 to 120 € per employee per year, Ankaa sits entirely within this budget. Please confirm the treatment in your specific case with your payroll team or tax adviser.

What does Ankaa cost for companies?

Billing is per employee per month (PEPM): Starter (25 to 50 seats) 8 to 10 €, Growth (50 to 250) 6 to 7 €, Enterprise (250+) 4 to 5 €. That is 48 to 120 € per employee per year, well below the tax-free €600 budget. Minimum 25 seats, 12 months. Optional: a wall display (Ankaa Box) and an anonymised aggregate dashboard. Prices are preliminary.

How is employee data protection handled?

Health data is especially sensitive (Art. 9 GDPR). Every account is technically isolated, EU hosting is our target, and by default the employer sees only anonymised aggregate reports: never individual data or diagnoses. Personal data stays with the employee; individual analysis only with explicit opt-in. Data is never sold to advertisers or data brokers.

Do we need a works-council agreement?

When introducing a digital health tool, co-determined companies usually find a works-council agreement sensible or necessary. Ankaa ships a ready-made template for this, plus a DPA template: the biggest adoption hurdle is covered from the start.

What sets Ankaa apart from Wellhub, 7Mind or Humanoo?

Classic benefit platforms are focused: fitness or mental health or finances. Ankaa bundles sleep, stress, habit reduction, back/ergonomics (the leading cause of absence), finances and an AI coach that acts in one platform, plus explicit neurodivergent inclusion (ADHD/autism design principles). One platform instead of five silos, optionally with a wall display in the break room.
